Nursery – What to Expect

If you are new to AEC or thinking about attending, we are very much excited to now be able to offer childcare again in the nursery for ages 0-3. The following will provide you with an idea of what you can expect.

·      The Nursery is always staffed with 2 Volunteers and sometimes three depending on the number of Children in the Nursery. All our Volunteers are required to complete a background check before being allowed to serve. Our Volunteers do consist of both Men and Women Volunteers.

·      Drop off time starts 10 minutes before Service.

·      Parents must sign in each child and provide pertinent information about the child attending. After the initial Registration is complete, the information is stored and will be available to all Nursery Volunteers. Parents will still need to check their child in and out. If there have been any changes to your child’s initial registration, a Nursery Volunteer will need to be notified of the change.

·      A Snack will be provided at some point for all children, crawling and older, during their time in the nursery if it has been approved by parents/guardian.

·      Diaper Changes – Diaper Changes are done on an “As Needed” basis. Please notify a Nursery Volunteer if you would prefer to change your child’s Diaper. AEC does have Diapers and Wipes on hand in the event that no diaper bag is available.

·      In the case that a child is potty trained and needs to use the restroom, one volunteer will assist the child to the restroom while the other volunteer stays with the other children in the Nursery. If your child is potty trained, please let a volunteer know. If you prefer to assist your child, please notify a volunteer.

·      All Children Must be checked in and out by a parent or an authorized person approved by parent.

Thank you for allowing AEC the privilege of caring for your children. Please feel free to contact us at (406) 328-4499 or the Nursery Coordinator Brenda Kircher at (406) 223-6910.
